You will assist with the provision of professional high quality client care within the community health service aimed at improving Aboriginal client health outcomes.

Providing proficient clinical nursing/midwifery care and individual case management to Aboriginal people in the community setting, you will assess clients’ needs and plan, implement and coordinate appropriate service delivery options. Working within and promoting a primary health model of partnership and support for people’s right to self determination in life processes, you will support and work collaboratively with less-experienced members of the Aboriginal Health team. In return you will be able to enjoy flexible working conditions and the opportunity to use your initiative and professional capabilities to their fullest extent. The position base is negotiable at Maitland, Point Pearce or Moonta, and you may be required to work across sites within the Yorke and Lower North Cluster.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. Demonstrating a thorough knowledge of Aboriginal health issues, you will have the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and with the community. This will be evident in your ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision. A confident communicator, you will be able to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within the healthcare setting.
