Undertaking a combination of patient care area leadership and resource management, you will use your clinical knowledge and experience to provide the pivotal coordination of patient care delivery in the Neonatal Unit at the Flinders Medical Centre.

This will incorporate Neonatal Intensive care, Special Care, aspects of Neonatal follow up and Neonatal Outreach services. Your main area of focus will be the line management, coordination and leadership of nursing and midwifery team activities to achieve continuity and quality of patient care. Accepting accountability for the outcomes of nursing and midwifery practices in the Neonatal Unit, you will strive to address inconsistencies between practice and policy and develop team performance and a positive work culture in the interest of patient outcomes. The Flinders Medical Centre is situated in the Adelaide foothills on an 11.5 hectare campus approximately 12 kilometres from the city centre. It is only a few kilometres from our beautiful south coast beaches and close to famous wineries in the southern Adelaide region.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. In addition you will have post-registration experience in Neonatal nursing, both intensive and special care.
You will possess effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation. These skills will equip you to foster a work environment that develops staff potential and facilitates creativity and innovation.
