The Perioperative Service is looking to attract a senior health professional who has proven ability in leadership and change management. The overall responsibility of the unit manager is the efficient supervision and direction of all activities and related activities of the unit, with the primary management function being effective patient care with budgetary constraints whilst adhering to the policies, procedures, objectives and the values of the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:
• Management of patient care
• Maintaining and improving standards throughout the Perioperative Unit
• Quality management, including systems and process in the unit
• Budgetary management
• Effective management of staff
• Ensuring operational efficiencies and key performance indicators are measured and met
• Maintaining professional qualification and keep abreast of current developments and trends in relation to the Perioperative service.
Qualifications and experience:
• Must hold a health professional qualification
• At least 5 years experience within an operating department
• A postgraduate theatre qualification will be advantageous
• Management training and experience will be advantageous
• Computer literacy
• Sound knowledge of budgetary processes

 Bingara MPS is seeking a highly motivated Activities Officer to implement Diversional Therapy Services to the Residents of Bingara MPS and the community of Bingara.


The position has dual purpose:

Residential Aged Care
The Activities Officer is responsible for the provision of recreational activities through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for the Aged Care Residents of the Bingara Multi-Purpose Service.

Community Health
The Activities Officer is responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of individual and group programs for aged, disable and persons who have suffered brain injury.

The overall aim of the activities officer is to enhance social, psychological and physical health utilising a multi-disciplinary, coordinated approach to ensure optimal outcomes.

To provide clinical rehabilitation interventions that are individually tailored and evidence-based and that promote the development, acquisition and utilisation of skills, supports and resources necessary to achieve identified goals and maximise the opportunities for self-determination. The position will work in partnership with a range of clinical and non-clinical services to promote recovery, independence and social inclusion.

The classification for Allied Health Professionals is Level 3 however if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.

Awards Include: Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Psychologist and Registered Nurses.
